NY Times Article
There was an article on Ben Roethlisberger in the New York Times the other day that is certainly interesting reading. I goes back to his early years, high school, college, and time in Pittsburgh. Quick summary is once a jerk, always a jerk.

Unless you’re spineless, there’s always folks who have a negative opinion of you. If you’re now famous, and winner of 2 Super Bowls, I’m even more certain there are plenty of people from the past who wanna take their shot at you.
Not saying Ben is a saint, or even an acolyte, but this is meaningless blather – hard to figure why a publication line NYT would bother writing it, let alone printing it.
1I don’t disagree with anything you are saying, but unfortunately for Ben he has provided way too much ammunition for his detractors. I think the point of the article is that his behavior had roots throughout his life and is not a result of recent fame, but more fame has just allowed it to come out more. I wasn’t writing at the time but the motorcycle accident was a massive danger sign that he had no personal responsibility to anyone but himself.
I was surprised to see an article like this in the NYT as well. Seemed a couple of months late…
2Slightly off topic…but Vince Young and Cedric Benson…no suspension??? Doesn’t seem fair..
3Yeah, I guess bar fights are ok as long as nobody gets shot. What is that about incident number eight for Benson?
